The Capesize bulk carrier plays a vital role as a large tramper in efficiently transporting vast loads of iron ore and coal necessary for steel production which is vital for economic development.
Our Capesize bulk carrier fleet has been developed as the main carriers for Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd., the third largest steel maker in Japan. Our fleet now ranges from 150,000 to 210,000 DWT and transports raw materials for international steel mills as well.
In particular, we began doing business with large Chinese steel mills in the mid-1990s and were the first Japanese shipping company to secure a long term contract.
In recent years, newly developing countries such as India and China see the securing of raw materials as vital for further economic development and this trend is seen all around the world. Using this as a tail wind, we plan to expand our fleet of cost competitive Capesize bulk carriers and actively increase our profitability.

Extremely wider range of the vessel size under control of DCKK, ranging from capesize, postpanamax, panamax including kamsarmax to handymax, handysize and coastal vessels, also deserves the postion of best qualified international drybulk ship operator. And DCKK have extensive and deep knowledge of how to do in every process of shipping and transportation including how to secure safety, which have been accumulated since own early age.
We believe all of these will be of very good service to our customers in Europe.
We will assist and organize new stage of business between customers here and our head office.
We will walk our way to the future together with our customers here, who we believe will understand DCKK is not one of Japanese drybulk shipoperator but a leading tramper in the world, ‘DAIICHI CHUO KISEN KAISHA'.
